  • Middle School English/Language Arts Teacher
    Position Description Saint John Paul II Catholic School is seeking an experienced and energetic educator who will serve as a Middle School English/Language Arts Teacher. The position is a full-time contract with benefits.  
    • Job Responsibilities:
      • Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with diocesan standards.
      • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of SJPII and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
      • Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management.
      • Assess and document student progress
      • Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
      • Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
      • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and in-service learning opportunities. 
      •  Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
      • Integrate technology effectively into the classroom. 
    • Qualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree in Education from an Accredited College or University 
      • Current NC Teaching Certificate or Letter of Eligibility 
      • Teaching experience preferred 
      • We prefer a previous experience in a Catholic school

  • Teaching Assistants
    • Position Description:
      Saint John Paul II Catholic School is seeking teaching assistants who will work under the direction of the classroom teacher and be expected to assist with the implementation of instructional plans. The successful candidate will be ready to work with all students to promote educational, social, spiritual, and emotional development. The ideal applicant will be caring, patient, and understanding. The teaching assistant must be attentive to the unique needs of each student and be able to identify proper solutions when students encounter issues. You should have strong interpersonal skills, as you’ll be collaborating with other teachers, working with students, and talking to families.   • Teaching Positions
    • Saint John Paul II Catholic School is a vibrant parochial school with an experienced and dedicated faculty and a current enrollment of 215 students.  The school was founded in 2002 and is in the beautiful Sandhills region of North Carolina. Our school enjoys the richness of a diverse group of learners. We believe every child is unique, and learning is dynamic and different for each child.  Due to consistent growth in our student population, we are currently seeking to add several new teachers to our staff.
    • Position Description:
      Saint John Paul II Catholic School is seeking an experienced and energetic educator who will serve as lead teacher (fourth grade) for the 2019–2020 school year. The position is full-time contract with benefits.  A candidate must be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Catholic Church who espouses the teachings and traditions of the Magisterium and has a devotion to a reverent and sacramental life.  
    • Requirements:
      • Education: A qualified candidate will possess the following:   
        • North Carolina Teacher Licensure K-6 or equivalent
        • 3 Year Successful Classroom Teaching Experience  
      • Position Responsibilities:
        • Develop and implement rigorous hands-on learning, assignments, and assessments
        • Exhibit a strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
        • Contribute to a positive, Catholic school culture driven by high expectations for student achievement, professional growth, and collaborative learning.
        • Incorporate the seamless integration of technology and naturally infuse 21st Century skills in lessons that support the school’s instructional program and goals
        • Coordinate and attend meetings with parents and staff 
        • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
